Biography
The Rev. J. C. Crenshaw was president of the Little Rock branch of the NAACP. After city officials demanded the organization’s membership records, a warrant was issued on October 31, 1957. Crenshaw surrendered on November 1, was booked, and posted $300 bond the same day. He was later convicted and fined, but the U.S. Supreme Court reversed the conviction on February 23, 1960.
