Biography
Ralph Goodwin was a member of the Republic of New Afrika. New Mexico authorities accused Goodwin, Charlie Hill and Michael Finney of killing State Police Officer Robert Rosenbloom during a November 8, 1971 traffic stop outside Albuquerque. The three hijacked TWA Flight 106 to Havana on November 27 and received political asylum. Cuban State Security initially detained them, but the available accounts do not give Goodwin’s release date. Goodwin drowned off the Cuban coast in 1973 while reportedly trying to rescue another swimmer. He was never returned to the United States or tried on the American charges.
