Michael Finney
Biography
Michael Finney, who later used the name Langston Wright, was a member of the Republic of New Afrika. New Mexico authorities accused Finney, Charlie Hill and Ralph Goodwin of killing State Police Officer Robert Rosenbloom during a November 8, 1971 traffic stop outside Albuquerque. The three hijacked TWA Flight 106 to Havana on November 27 and received political asylum. Cuban State Security initially held them in a detention center, and the Miami Herald reported on October 14, 1980 that Finney and Charles (Charlie) Hill had been freed in May or June 1980 and were then living in Cuba. The report supplies an uncertain two-month release window, not an exact discharge date or proof of uninterrupted custody since 1971.
