Biography

Julia Garfield is an Olympia anti-war activist and Port Militarization Resistance participant. She was among the women arrested during the November 13, 2007 blockade at the Port of Olympia after the group sat in front of the main gate to stop a Stryker convoy. The arrested women were held for about seven hours and released early on November 14. The surveillance and police response later became part of Panagacos v. Towery, a civil suit over Army infiltration of Port Militarization Resistance and the sharing of intelligence with local police.
