Biography
A Quaker antiwar activist and former Antioch College student from Cincinnati, known for a lengthy jail hunger strike (Dec 1967-Jan 1968) after an earlier arrest. One of the eight arrested Sept 6, 1970 in the Rochester raids; convicted and sentenced to twenty to thirty months by Judge Harold Burke. She later became a physical therapist and a lifelong war-tax resister and anti-hunger organizer (Just Harvest).
The September 1, 1971 Sufferings roster places this prisoner at Alderson Federal Womens Reformatory, West Virginia and identifies affiliation with Morgantown Meeting, West Virginia. The contemporary Friends Journal report states that Squire and Suzanne Williams refused bail as a middle-class privilege and remained jailed throughout the Rochester trial. Its February 1971 account places Squire at the federal women's institution in Alderson, West Virginia. It does not establish when that custody began or when she was released.

Friends Journal’s November 15, 1971 prisoner report listed Squire as released after completing the sentence for destroying Selective Service records.
