STATE DEPARTMENT BOMBING
State Department Bombing

On January 29, 1975, the Weather Underground bombed the U.S. State Department building in Washington, D.C., again in protest of U.S. policy in Southeast Asia. Consistent with the group's practice, a warning was issued and the explosion caused damage but no injuries.

It was one of the group's last major bombings. By this point the Vietnam War was ending, the movement that had sustained the underground was fading, and internal divisions were mounting.
