Biography
Walter C. Lohman Jr. was a United Electrical Workers member in Dayton, Ohio, prosecuted for signing a Taft-Hartley non-Communist affidavit. His first conviction was reversed under the Supreme Court’s Jencks decision. A second conviction brought concurrent five-year sentences, which were affirmed in 1959. Contemporary reports place him in federal prison by July 1960 and at the federal penitentiary in Terre Haute in December 1961, but his exact admission and release dates remain unresolved.
