Biography
Valerie Bridges was a young Nisqually activist from the Frank’s Landing family central to the treaty fishing-rights struggle. Military authorities confined participants in the March 8, 1970 Fort Lawton takeover in the provost marshal’s jail before issuing expulsion letters. Bridges returned on March 15 and was among those charged with violating the expulsion order. The reviewed record does not establish her exact release time or final disposition.
