Biography

Page 3’s September 27 New Haven report identifies Furniture Workers Industrial Union organizer Sidney Taylor and six unnamed Diamond Parlor furniture-shop strikers as arrested for loitering. Three were standing on a street corner and four riding in a car; Taylor’s subgroup is unspecified. Their cases came before court Thursday and a continuance was requested. A proposed Friday meeting at which all seven would speak does not establish actual discharge. Source: https://www.marxists.org/history/usa/pubs/dailyworker/1934/v11-n233-sep-28-1934-DW-LOC.pdf
