Biography

Isaac Abraham was a leader of the New Britain, Connecticut Unemployed Council. A November 3 dispatch printed in the November 4, 1932 Daily Worker, page 3, names him and Ronald Loomis as arrested that day at a City Hall demonstration for unemployment relief. The report attributes the arrests to Mayor Quigley, whose promise of aid after banning a benefit film the demonstrators were challenging. It does not give a formal charge, conviction, jail admission or physical release. Source: https://www.marxists.org/history/usa/pubs/dailyworker/1932/v09-n264-NY-nov-04-1932-DW-LOC.pdf#page=3

The August 9, 1933 Daily Worker reports Abraham speaking at the August 1 New Britain anti-war meeting while out on bond for his part in the Tariffville tobacco strike. This identifies a separate strike-related proceeding from his November 1932 City Hall relief arrest; no exact arrest, release or sentence is provided.
