Biography
Noel Colón Martínez was a Puerto Rican lawyer, former president of the Puerto Rico Bar Association and advocate for Puerto Rico’s self-determination. A firsthand family interview identifies an August 2, 2001 arrest during civil disobedience against the U.S. Navy in Vieques. A commemorative lecture by Alejandro Torres Rivera describes imprisonment at MDC Guaynabo together with a son and grandson, linking three generations of the Colón family in the Vieques struggle.
The Bar Association records Colón’s birth in Moca on October 20, 1927 and death in San Juan on October 7, 2022. The cited custody accounts do not establish an individual sentence, prison admission date or release date.
