Biography
Louis Ragni was an Italian-born Detroit resident and father of two Marines who served in Korea. Immigration authorities ordered him deported to Italy for alleged Communist activity dating to the 1930s and scheduled his departure for September 12, 1952. A federal judge stayed the deportation while reviewing the case. A November 1953 National Guardian roster lists him among persons arrested for deportation, but no dated jail admission, release or custody duration has been established.

Contemporary report gives age 61 in November 1953, placing birth in 1891 or 1892; no exact birth date or custody endpoint given.
