Biography
Gus Polites was a Greek-born Detroit-area resident targeted for deportation over alleged past Communist Party membership. Immigration authorities arrested him on January 27, 1955. A deportation hearing was held on September 8, 1955, and the Board of Immigration Appeals dismissed his appeal on January 6, 1956.
