Biography
Juanito Cordoba-Bermudez, FARC 57th Front member, was extradited and pleaded guilty to material-support conspiracy. 180 months federal prison.
Chronology conflict review October 13, 2026: DEA's August 2010 announcement records a 2008 Panama arrest and May 2009 transfer to U.S. custody. Carlos A. Rodriguez's May 8, 2009 report in Critica instead dates the arrest January 30 and reports transfer the preceding Thursday. Neither supports the former September 27, 2009 arrest/admission fields, which are cleared along with the unsupported exact duration. The arrest-year conflict is preserved for further verification rather than arbitrarily resolved. Judge Chin's March 2014 opinion independently confirms the retained June 1, 2011 sentencing date. Judicial plea and sentencing record
Judge Denny Chin’s March 19, 2014 opinion in United States v. Cordoba-Bermudez, No. 08 Cr. 1290 (S.D.N.Y.), expressly records a guilty plea on August 10, 2010 to one material-support-conspiracy count under 18 U.S.C. § 2339B (PDF pp. 1, 3). It states that the sentence imposed June 1, 2011 was 180 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release and a $100 special assessment (p. 5). Judgment was entered June 6, 2011, a court-record date rather than proof of physical admission. The opinion records appellate affirmance on August 29, 2012 and denies his § 2255 motion on March 19, 2014; neither is a release date. Its USP-Leavenworth address describes the historical 2014 filing, not current custody status. It does not establish a birth date or precise initial custody endpoints, and does not replace the independently recorded November 9, 2021 release.
