Biography

The August 17 Hartford dispatch reports John Williams arrested on an Alabama extradition request alleging a December 11, 1928 Abbeville murder. The ANLC and ILD opposed return because of lynching and unfair-trial danger. The report says the NAACP bailed him out subject to surrender on demand; completed extradition is not established. He is distinct from the 1918 Charleston sedition prisoner John Williams. Source: https://www.marxists.org/history/usa/pubs/dailyworker/1930/v07-n198-NY-aug-18-1930-DW-LOC.pdf#page=3
