Biography
Hymen Schlesinger was a Pittsburgh lawyer active in civil-liberties and Communist causes. Pennsylvania officers arrested him at 3:45 p.m. on June 11, 1951 on a state sedition warrant, kept him handcuffed while transporting him for about three hours, and delivered him to the Allegheny County Jail. The court quashed the charge on December 11, 1951 because the arrest and prosecution violated due process. The reviewed record does not establish when he left the jail.
