Biography

Gussie Weiner was a Needle Trades Workers Industrial Union organizer. The Daily Worker, August 14, 1933, page 3, names her alongside TUUL organizer Sam Krieger as arrested for participating in the Mitchell Brothers shirt-and-dress strike picket lines in Bridgeport. Both were out on bail, with trial expected Wednesday. The enlarged original prints the first name across lines as Gus-sie; she is not identified with Detroit bakery defendant Meyer Weiner. No exact arrest day, charge, bail amount or trial outcome is supplied. Source: https://www.marxists.org/history/usa/pubs/dailyworker/1933/v10-n194-aug-14-1933-DW-LOC.pdf
