Biography
Antonio Quintana was a twenty-two-year-old member of Denver’s Crusade for Justice when police arrested him on September 17, 1975 with Juan Haro and accused them of conspiring to bomb police stations. Their defense described the prosecution as a political frame-up built around police informant Joseph Cordova Jr. A jury unanimously acquitted Haro in April 1977. Prosecutor Richard Spriggs then announced that he would drop every charge against Quintana because the judge had excluded the prosecution’s only evidence and Cordova could not identify Quintana at a pretrial hearing. Quintana’s scheduled May 23 trial did not proceed. His custody status after arrest has not been established.
