Biography

Walter Armstrong was an ACT UP/New York activist. During the July 14, 1992 AIDS march in New York City he reportedly picked up a police barricade and threw it toward an officer. He was arrested and spent the night in jail, apparently being released on July 15, 1992.

Custody record

Armstrong’s 2014 POZ author biography reports fourteen ACT UP arrests. This documents repeated arrests, not fourteen proven jail stays; the dates and custody lengths of the other episodes remain unresolved.
