Biography
Vince Scotti Eirene was a Catholic Worker and Pittsburgh peace activist who adopted the surname Eirene from the Greek word for peace. He was one of six prayer pilgrims arrested at the Pantex nuclear weapons assembly plant on February 10, 1981. Eirene received a six-month sentence and remained in custody until July 7, 1981. He later founded the Duncan Porter House of Hospitality and Resistance, provided housing and support to unhoused people, and took part in antiwar, environmental, and nuclear-disarmament campaigns. He died September 11, 2025 at age 73.

Contemporary anti-nuclear custody report
The February 18, 1982 Rockwell trial report individually identifies Vince Eirene and Kathy Jennings as choosing jail rather than a fine and actually being released after ten days. This distinct 1982 imprisonment is not the existing 1981 Pantex case. The release day is not explicitly printed and is not back-calculated; ten days are actual served time, unlike the initial thirty-day sentence option. The February 10 arrest ended in same-day release, not continuous jail until February 18.

Additional individually documented historical custody
The December 1986 directory individually identifies Vince Eirene as imprisoned at Danbury for the March 1986 Pantex prayer witness under a nominal one-year term. This is distinct from the existing 1981 Pantex and 1982 Rockwell stays. The directory’s January 1987 expected release is not a verified discharge; neither the March action month nor the sentence length establishes intake or completed service. No new exact endpoint or counter is inferred.
