Biography
Victor D. Edwards, 31, of St. Paul was charged in conspiracy with Shador T.C. Jackson and Leroy L.P. Williams for fires set inside Target's world headquarters in Minneapolis on August 26, 2020. Inside the mailroom Edwards added liquid accelerant to a fire intentionally started by Jackson. Sentenced to 60 months on count 1 and 100 months on count 2, served concurrently.
The April 14, 2021 order in No. 20-cr-282 (PJS/ECW) records Edwards’s arrest and initial detention on December 10, 2020, followed by the December 14 detention hearing and December 21 written detention order. It distinguishes the November 4 complaint from his later arrest. Edwards sought release following his aunt’s death, citing his children’s care and his partner’s needs. Magistrate Judge Elizabeth Cowan Wright heard the request on April 12 and denied release on April 14 after considering the statutory detention factors. A later January 2021 release repeats the age but may reuse the earlier case description, so it is not used to claim a unique birth year.
