Biography
Timothy Justen French, known online as Orbit and by several related aliases, participated in the hacking groups NullCrew and Anonymous. Federal prosecutors said he took part in at least seven attacks on companies, universities, and government entities between 2012 and 2014. French pleaded guilty in December 2015 to intentionally damaging a protected computer without authorization. He received a 45-month federal sentence on November 1, 2016. After a period in a halfway house and a later return to custody, a prisoner-support project reported his final release on January 14, 2019.
Discontinuous-custody review October 13, 2026: DOJ confirms the November 1, 2016 forty-five-month sentence. Existing notes describe halfway-house release and subsequent return before the January 2019 endpoint, but do not establish all transition dates. The 1678-day arrest-to-release total cannot represent verified uninterrupted physical imprisonment and is cleared. BOP's locator matches existing register 47606-074, full name and age 32, and now gives a latest April 14, 2023 federal endpoint. That later endpoint is documented here, not silently substituted for the earlier case release. Actual initial admission, intermediate phases and photograph identity remain unresolved.
