Biography

Thomas Bertino was prosecuted for perjury in connection with petitions to place the Communist Party on the election ballot in Sonoma County. A Santa Rosa dispatch dated July 4, 1932 reports his acquittal and describes a defense campaign involving local workers and farmers. The report gives no exact trial day, arrest, physical jail confinement or release date; prosecution is not converted into an invented custody interval. Western Worker, July 15, 1932, page 1.
