Biography
One of the four remaining defendants prosecuted following the March 26, 1932 anti-war demonstration at the Japanese Embassy in Washington, targeted by police clubbing and subsequent assault accusations. The April 7 report says his trial opened that afternoon before a twelve-person jury and would continue April 8. Police Langley, Kelly and Holmes testified; defense attorney Ford challenged contradictory identification and elicited an admission that police routinely denied clubbing or claimed not to remember. Page 1 instead prints Sussman; that discrepancy is retained without asserting an expanded identity. Exact discharge and total detention remain unknown.
