Biography

An individually captioned photograph in the June 1932 Labor Defender identifies Comrade Stacey as a California activist taken for a ride by police and anti-labor gangsters, tarred and feathered for demanding freedom for Thomas Mooney and the Scottsboro defendants. It establishes political abduction but supplies no first name, exact place, endpoints, formal charge or duration. The caption does not identify him with Henry Stacey, the separately documented Pennsylvania coal-strike defendant. Labor Defender, June 1932, original PDF page 11.
