Biography
Seamus Moley was an Irish national prosecuted in two U.S. arms-procurement cases connected to the Provisional IRA. Arrested in Florida on January 12, 1990 during an undercover Stinger-missile operation, he was convicted and initially sentenced to 51 months on June 7, 1991; the appeals court subsequently vacated the sentences and ordered resentencing. In a separate Arizona prosecution concerning the purchase of detonators, he pleaded guilty in 1995 and received a 19-month sentence on June 30. He was released from U.S. custody and deported to Ireland on July 17, 1996.
