Biography
Wendy Loomas was an anti-nuclear activist who joined the Great Peace March in 1986 and organized opposition to Trident missile testing in Florida. Her first-person account describes eleven days actually served after a January 1987 Kennedy Space Center trespass arrest, resolved by a no-contest plea and a $100 fine. In a separate case following a Mother’s Day 1988 protest, a jury convicted her on June 30 and the judge imposed nine months in county jail. She wrote while imprisoned; December 15, 1988 was an expected release, not a documented discharge.

The original firstOctober1988 edition of Can’t Jail the Spirit individually prints Wendy Loomas with historical prison register BCDC-463D. Root reviewed the named original biography and mailing address. This fills a blank historical register; it does not imply present-day imprisonment or replace a current photograph.
Wendy Loomas’s first-person1988 account dates her second Kennedy Space Center arrest to Mother’s Day, May1988. She dates the guilty verdict June30 and describes the nine-month county-jail sentence in the same hearing narrative; sentence is conservatively June1988 MONTH. Actual confinement through the September21 costs hearing is explicit, but original intake is only1988 YEAR, not assumed to be the arrest or verdict day. The expected December15 discharge is prospective and remains blank. This refines the existing1988 case rather than adding a duplicate; the separate1987 eleven-day case is already documented and stays unchanged.
