Biography
Philip Agee was born January 19, 1935, and served as a CIA case officer from 1957 to 1968 and later became a prominent critic of United States covert operations. His 1975 book Inside the Company described CIA methods and identified officers and agents. Britain deported him in 1977, the United States revoked his passport in December 1979, and several European governments expelled or excluded him. The resulting litigation reached the Supreme Court in Haig v. Agee. No arrest, criminal conviction or imprisonment of Agee has been documented. He lived abroad for much of his later life and died in Havana on January 7, 2008.
