Roy F. Ebert was a US Army corporal arrested in the 1925 Hawaii Communist-soldier affair at Schofield Barracks — the same case (the Crouch/Trumbull court-martial) that the ILD publicized as an attack on radical soldiers. He was held in solitary confinement for two weeks.

The April 4, 1925 Young Worker, original page 1, names Corporal Roy F. Ebert of the 35th Infantry in its roster of soldiers arrested in the Hawaii political-organizing prosecution. The accompanying readable text identifies him as a graduate of an Iowa dental college. This contemporary service identification helps distinguish the soldier from unrelated people with the surname Ebert.
The article supplies no legible individual booking day or physical discharge day for Ebert and does not independently establish the two-week total already stored in his record. Its general statement about charges involving the death penalty is not a personal death sentence or a measured term served.
