Biography
Rebecca Winsor Evans was a member of the National Woman’s Party and one of the "Silent Sentinels" imprisoned during the 1917-1919 campaign to picket the Wilson White House for woman suffrage. She was the sister of Ellen Winsor, also in this database, and died on the same day, about twenty minutes after her. (born 1877 or 1879 - July 25, 1959)

She was arrested at the Lafayette Square demonstration on August 6, 1918 but released on bail without serving time. Arrested again on January 7, 1919, she was sentenced on January 8 to five days in the District Jail.
