Biography
Elsie Hill was a member of the National Woman's Party and one of the "Silent Sentinels" imprisoned during the 1917-1919 campaign to picket the Wilson White House for woman suffrage. Doris Stevens recorded her term as: August 1918: 15 days; February 1919: eight days in Charles Street Jail.
Stevens records fifteen days imposed for the August 1918 Lafayette Square speech and eight days imposed for the February 1919 Boston demonstration. Their sum is not an explicit twenty-three-day actual custody report. The stored nominal-as-actual day override is removed; no unsupported admission or release endpoint is substituted.
