Biography
Puerto Rican independentista and artist who, with Nydia Cuevas, occupied the Chilean Consulate in San Juan on July 3–4, 1978 to protest the continued imprisonment of the Puerto Rican Nationalist prisoners and US-backed dictatorships in Latin America. He was convicted and served federal time. Documented in PFOC Breakthrough magazine.
The early-1980s movement history reprinted in Que Ondee Sola, March 2010, explains that the July 3, 1978 consulate action demanded independence, freedom for the Nationalist prisoners, cancellation of July 4 celebrations, and solidarity with resistance to Chile's dictatorship.
