Biography

Oakley Johnson was described as a New York college professor arrested at the Bonus Army’s rank-and-file conference in Washington on Friday, July 29, 1932. He had attended to ask the veterans to elect a delegate to the World Congress Against War. The August 1 Daily Worker documents the arrest but provides no individual formal charge, court disposition, release day or completed duration. A proposed August congress date is not a custody endpoint. Source: https://www.marxists.org/history/usa/pubs/dailyworker/1932/v09-n182-NY-aug-01-1932-DW-LOC.pdf#page=3
