Biography
Minnie Hennessy was a member of the National Woman's Party and one of the "Silent Sentinels" imprisoned during the 1917-1919 campaign to picket the Wilson White House for woman suffrage. Doris Stevens recorded her term as: October 8, 1917: six-month sentence.
Stevens distinguishes an October 6, 1917 picketing arrest whose sentence was suspended from a new October 8 arrest followed by a six-month sentence. The suspended first sentence is not additional six-month custody, and the nominal later term is not converted into time actually served.
