Biography
Mike Miles is a Catholic Worker peace activist, farmer, and co-founder with Barb Kass of Anathoth Community Farm near Luck, Wisconsin. He joined the April 15, 1981 White House blood-pouring action and received a six-month sentence; contemporary reporting places him in the D.C. Detention Center by December 1981, but the precise first admission and discharge remain unverified. He was separately arrested at a Good Friday Pentagon protest in April 1983. At Wisconsin's Project ELF transmitter on November 12, 1985, he and Ladon Sheats were cited and released, then re-entered and were arrested again and jailed. The January 1986 original report records their December 26, 1985 conviction, fines and release on time served, not a November sentence for unpaid fines. His separately documented later antiwar organizing is retained.
1981 custody confirmed, exact endpoints unresolved
The December 12, 1981 Nuclear Resister front page individually names Miles as sentenced to six months and held in D.C. Detention Center. This verifies 1981 sentence/custody YEAR only, not an exact prison-entry day or six months actually served. The later planned April 18 release is not recorded as actual discharge.
Missing 1983 Pentagon arrest
The April 17, 1983 issue, printed page 5 names him in the Good Friday Pentagon arrest and reports all eight free pending arraignment. The April 1 arrest is distinct from his 1981 action. Actual release is bounded within April, while jail entry and disposition remain unknown.
1985 initial release, repeat arrest, and actual discharge
The December 9, 1985 issue, front page dates the two successive ELF entries November 12: citation/release after the first, jail after the second. The January 20, 1986 issue, printed page 4 dates the court appearance and release two days after Christmas Eve, December 26, following 44 days in jail. Both were fined $1,150 and released on time served. The original reports replace the later summary's fine-nonpayment explanation. The existing identified portrait and later dated case are retained.
April 1981 White House conviction report
The October 30 issue individually names this defendant among five convicted for pouring blood at the White House on April 15,1981, with destruction of federal property and unlawful-entry charges. Veasey alone took immediate sentencing; Mike Miles, John Sheils, Karl Smith and Sally Kearsley were scheduled for November 19 sentencing. That future hearing is not recorded as an event that already occurred. This report supplies no individual physical jail-admission or release endpoint for the April case and does not merge it with a later banner, Pentagon or Plowshares prosecution.

Contemporary anti-nuclear custody report
The Washington D.C. jail roster lists John Shiel (ten months), Mike Miles (six months), and Carl Smith (six months), all due out April 18, 1982. The April 18 date was still a forecast in this April 15 issue, not a report of actual discharge; no release date or served duration is inferred from it. Carl/Karl spelling is retained with the separately established identity, not treated as a new person.

The Project ELF report expressly says Mike Miles turned himself in to begin serving a nineteen-day sentence during the August 6–9, 1985 peace presence. This realized intake is MONTH August 1985 with earliest/latest bounds August 6–9, not an invented exact day. The underlying trespass occurred November 1984; the nineteen-day sentence is not claimed completed service. This predates the separate November 12, 1985 arrest.
The retrospective chronology reports a May 1993 release from Ashland County jail after discovery that the county trespass ordinance used against ELF protesters did not exist.
