Biography
Michael Sprong was part of the Silence Trident direct disarmament action against Project ELF, the U.S. Navy's extremely-low-frequency submarine command system in northern Wisconsin and Michigan, in June 2000. He served 2 months in federal custody.
Brief 1981 military custody
The original January 17, 1982 Nuclear Resister, printed page 3, names Mike Sprong in the December 28 Offutt group taken into military custody and released after several hours. That supplies the missing custody-start DAY, without turning the brief detention into a prison sentence. The publisher later uses both Michael and Mike Sprong in its Silence Trident report. The existing identified portrait and separately dated 2000 case are retained; the later case is outside this 1980s pass.
