Biography

Meikichi Nishimura was a Japanese Communist organizer. Yushi Yamazaki's 2020 study, printed pp. 96, 103 and notes 25, 42, reports his arrest at an antideportation and anti-imperialist demonstration at Battery and Washington streets, San Francisco, about two weeks after the April 14, 1930 Imperial Valley mass arrest. Japanese and Chinese ILD branches organized the demonstration. The study lists him among four Issei previously charged under the Criminal Syndicalism Act and ordered to leave the country with the Long Beach deportees. It describes the campaign for departure to the Soviet Union rather than Japan; no individual prison term, exact arrest day or physical discharge date is supplied.
