Biography
Margaret Gilbert was one of four Massachusetts defendants indicted under the state anti-subversion law for alleged political advocacy. In 1956 the indictments were dismissed after the Supreme Court held that the federal Smith Act displaced state sedition prosecutions in this field. No conviction or confinement has been established.
