Biography

Leroy Robinson was one of six Black youths prosecuted for murder in the 1932 Logan Circle case in Washington, D.C. The Daily Worker of October 21, 1932, page 1, reports from Washington on October 20 that charges against Harry Duvall, Louis Murray and Leroy Robinson had been dismissed that morning and that the three were freed. Joseph Jackson, Ralph Holmes and Irvin Murray remained on trial. The International Labor Defense characterized the original incident as resistance to a brutal police attack; that is the defense account, not a judicial finding supplied by the report. No individual arrest date or actual custody duration is established. Source: https://www.marxists.org/history/usa/pubs/dailyworker/1932/v09-n252-NY-oct-21-1932-DW-LOC.pdf
