Biography
L. N. Legendre was from Los Angeles, California. L. N. Legendre began serving a two-year prison sentence on July 20, 1918. He was convicted of sedition for stating "This is a war fostered by Morgan and the rich." 223 Lehnemann, from LeMoore, California, was sentenced to five years in prison. He served in McNeil Island Penitentiary.
The presidential-clemency table in the 1921 Senate amnesty hearings records a sentence imposed July 20, 1918: Two years at McNeil Island. Commuted March 3, 1919 to expire April 1, 1919. A pardon, commutation, nominal expiration or parole eligibility is not itself evidence of the day of physical release; the imposed or reduced term is not a measured time served.
