1983 arrest, sentence admission and actual release verified
Schulkin was arrested with Shelley Douglass and Mary Grondin at Bangor on Ash Wednesday, February 16, 1983, not February 15. The contemporary March 9 Nuclear Resister reports that the three were initially released with ban-and-bar letters pending arraignment. The original July 7 issue states that Schulkin was sentenced July 6 to ten days and immediately taken to Pierce County Jail in Tacoma. This establishes both sentencing and actual sentence admission on July 6, replacing the unsupported February admission and generic cite-and-release disposition. The August 23 issue reports Schulkin's actual release on July 15 after serving the ten-day sentence. This supersedes the July 17 anticipated release in the earlier roster. Ten days is retained as the source's reported sentence service; July 6 to July 15 is nine elapsed calendar days, and neither counting convention implies uninterrupted custody since February.
