Biography

Julio Cesar Lopez, Salamanca-cluster money-launderer who oversaw the operations $4-5 million laundering arm. 30 months federal prison.

The original Southern District of Florida indictment in case 06-20001-CR-Lenard/Klein bears a January 3, 2006 filing stamp and names this defendant among ten accused in the Salamanca investigation. Its descriptions of the 2005 undercover operation are charging allegations. The indictment itself does not establish an arrest, extradition, prison admission or release date; the date embedded in the downloaded filename is not the filing date. 2010s audit verified October 12, 2026: The original DOJ plea report identifies the FARC defendant as Julio Cesar Lopez, 62 in October 2007, from Caracas, and confirms February 2006 arrest at month precision. The January 27, 2006 DOJ report says he was still at large, contradicting a January 1 prison admission. The official BOP locator identifies legacy register 25387-112 as Julio Cesar Ventura Lopez, age 60 in October 2026, with October 30, 2015 departure—not this defendant, who was already 62 in 2007. The unsupported register, release date, January admission and 3588-day total were removed. No namesake date or photograph was substituted. Actual sentence and physical-release dates remain unresolved; the plea report’s scheduled sentencing contains a year inconsistency and is not an executed sentence.
