Joshua Stephen Demmitt, age 18, pleaded guilty to setting fire to a Brigham Young University animal-husbandry facility on behalf of the ALF in 2004. Sentenced to 30 months federal prison.
The 2006 roster identifies Demmitt as federal prisoner 12314-081 at FCI Safford.
In May 2005, Demmitt’s support group reported that he was held at Sheridan, struggled to obtain adequate vegan food, and was placed in solitary confinement during the campaign over his diet. The group said the warden subsequently promised his removal from solitary.
