Alex Jason Hall, age 22, pleaded guilty to AETA charges for the 2008 release of approximately 650 mink from a fur farm in South Jordan, Utah, and the destruction of breeding records and ranch buildings. Sentenced to 21 months federal prison plus $66,753 restitution.

Underlying action year and court chronology
The original January 2010 federal order in the co-defendant's case dates the McMullin South Jordan mink-farm incident to August 19, 2008 and names Alex Jason Hall as the alleged co-participant. Thus 2009 denotes the prosecution, not the action year. The order decides Viehl's motion only: his September 2009 plea, hearings, counsel and custody descriptions are not assigned to Hall. The court's 500-mink description differs from the approximately 650 estimate in existing reporting; this does not establish a new individual arrest, admission, sentence or release date for Hall.
