Biography
Joseph Mazzuchelli, age 42, was a co-conspirator with John Ford and Edward Zabo in a 1996 plot to use radium-laced canisters to murder Suffolk County Republican leader John Powell and two county officials. Pleaded guilty to second-degree conspiracy and related charges; sentenced to three to nine years in state prison.
Three-to-nine-year sentence distinguished from time actually served
The January 1998 Skeptics UFO Newsletter individually identifies Joseph Mazzuchelli in the same Suffolk County radium prosecution as John Ford and Edward Zabo. It reports that he had pleaded guilty and had been sentenced to three to nine years. That is a sentence range, not proof of precisely thirty-six months actually served. The existing case already records that range; the short biography’s thirty-six-month wording is corrected to match it. No exact sentencing, physical admission or discharge day is supplied, and none is calculated from the sentence. The separately stored June 10, 1997 arrest/intake remains dependent on other evidence, not newly confirmed by this January report.
