Biography

Jim Hinds was a union leader jailed amid the Rockwood Hosiery Mill strike in Tennessee. A May 17, 1936 dispatch reports he and fellow strike leader Joe Polsnot were apprehended over the dynamiting of the town water main. It attributes to Tennessee Federation of Labor officials the claim that a detective agency arranged a frame-up. Those accusations are the contemporary labor account, not a judicial finding. No exact arrest, verdict, sentence or release is supplied. Source: https://www.marxists.org/history/usa/pubs/dailyworker/1936/v13-n119-NY-May-18-1936-DW-Q.pdf#page=3
