Biography
Jacob O. Bentall was from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Jacob O. Bentall was convicted for making a speech during his campaign as the Socialist Party's candidate for governor. He was sentenced to five years in prison and served in Leavenworth Penitentiary.
The September 1917 International Socialist Review reports J. O. Bentall actually held at the Minneapolis county jail farm. His individual admission, discharge and full custody total are not supplied. The former biography's trailing sentence describes A. F. W. Benzin, not Bentall; its July 10, 1918 prison-entry day is removed from Bentall's case. The March1922 official report lists Jacob O. Bentall in List1 of convicted prisoners or parolees. The government entry reports Conspiracy and violating the espionage act. a sentence of December 20, 1921, 2 years in the United States penitentiary, Leaven- worth, Kans.. Imposed terms, projected term-expiration dates, parole eligibility and intervals on bond are different measures; none is entered as a complete actual custody total.
