Biography
Irwin St. John Tucker Born in Mobile, Alabama; Episcopal priest (ordained 1913, General Theological Seminary), Socialist Party member from 1912. Director of the SP National Office Literature Department in summer 1917, where he authored the antiwar pamphlet "The Price We Pay." Co-defendant in the Chicago Trial of Five. Conviction vacated by Berger v. US (1921). Served as priest-in-charge of St. Stephen's, Chicago (1927–1954); reinstated as Episcopal priest in 1970 at age 84.
