Biography
Helen Chisaski was a member of the National Woman's Party and one of the "Silent Sentinels" imprisoned during the 1917-1919 campaign to picket the Wilson White House for woman suffrage. Doris Stevens recorded her term as: January 13, 1919: five days.
Stevens identifies Helen Chisaski as a Bridgeport, Connecticut, munitions worker and member of the Machinists’ Union. Her January 13, 1919 watchfire arrest and five-day sentence are already recorded; this adds occupational context without changing any custody dates or asserting that a nominal sentence proves full service.
