The January 10, 1970 report identifies Harold Bell, a survivor of the December 4 raid, as having been beaten while in jail and already out on bond when the article was written. It gives no exact admission or physical release date, so the report supplies a release bound rather than an invented endpoint.

A December 19, 1969 FBI urgent teletype records Cook County Jail records officer Tom Panush reporting that Harold Keith Bell was released on bond that day after the December 4 raid arrests. This is a physical release date, separate from any later disposition of the charges.

An FBI memorandum dated September 10, 1969, citing Rockford Police Department records, identifies Harold Keith Bell as born November 29, 1946, in Memphis, Tennessee. Its allegations concerning an April 25 demonstration arrest are not treated here as adjudicated facts.
